I’ll concenrate on different kind of crafts from the 1st of December, but before, I finished all my sewing commissions! (Some knitting ones still remain.) I love creating with my hands, but it’s also been nice to get them done! My own dolls have nothing to wear or at least it feels like it, especially the big boys, especially Mirwaise. Luckily I have drafted some new patterns that I can use, making the pattern is the step that I dislike the most. When they are ready, everything feels quite easy…

The best fabric ever! + babble

The best fabric in the whole world

Spot all the things Ellu loves…yes, there are many. Chandeliers, cats, butterflys, castles, BAMBIS, fairytale stuff – I saw this fabric at Jonna and Tuuli’s place and knew I had to buy some for myself. Now just what to make of this loveliness? Meital gets this, of course ;3 I’m thinking of just simple loli shirt that shows the print with lace or ruffle on the hem, and then cutting off fabric badges from the extras and decorating stuff with them. Like my own bag. I admit, I’m a sucker for these Japanese prints ;_;

I also thought of things and the future of my dolls – since I don’t think I will buy many BJDS in the future anymore, I might start pampering my current ones, and I’m slowly dipping my toe in the thought of “buying hella expensive eyes” such as uretanes from Enchanted Doll. Okay, the thought of buying doll eyes which cost 50+ dollars a pair still makes me cringe, but damn, those milky EID eyes…they ARE worth of that *_* And you’re not paying because they are rare or wanted or popular, you’re paying because they really cost that much, it doesn’t feel so bad. Or does it? Anyway, my hubby said that “well, if they make you happy, 40 euros is not much of happiness” and he’s of course right <3

I started my journey in the land of urethanes by reserving a pair of glimmering black Aamu eyes for Morri, hopefully I'll get them! When I get enough money from my sewing commissions (I've decided that all the money I got from them will go back to this hobby), I'm getting Meital something like these :3

Okay, back to the sewing so I get that money :D

Recently I got a huge pile of commissions, they kept adding up because I had a little pause with my sewing machine – but now my loyal PFAFF is all set up and I’ve managed to do things out of the way. This is really something I enjoy, being able to make stuff with my hands, and I have this distant dream of being able to be able to support myself with doll crafts, even part-time. It might be impossible, but hey, BJD fandom is growing all the time and being able to go international…it might work out. And what is life without having silly dreams? I remember the time when I dreamt of nothing, and it was nothing that I enjoyed.

Okay, let’s stop the babble and show pictures. I hope you’re not bored of my crafts, because here we go again :3

Let's go alpaca

This one is a favourite, because it’s for a friend who really likes alpacas so I made an alpaca hat! I saw real alpacas at the fair on Sunday and looked through many alpaca yarns. They were just on the expensive side, I know a place where you can get them cheaper ;3 This hat is of course made of alpaca yarn, it’s my favourite kind of yarns. Smooth, somehow slick, thin and it makes excellent doll knittings!

Enne (and her hand magnets) are so much better than a pin cushion. Don’t worry, I won’t let her poke anyone with that! When I sew, I always manage to lose the important items such as scissors, needles or measuring tape, so luckily I have a little cute helper :3

Yesyes, although real life has been kicking my butt lately :|

"Derp?"

I finished this some time ago, a dress for Enne. Screwed up the front panel and tried to cover it with lace bow, haha, that’s what I always try >_>; Oh well, as long as it looks okay…

Hey, remember those alpaca yarns? I already managed to knit the first results during weekend’s visit to homehome.

Ragbear

This is just a test for some new decorations, do note how well I hide the fact that Aegis’ faceup is in terrible shape. I hope to be able to toss his head soon to a friend for a new one!

The rest of recent commissions/crafts are after the cut because there are many!

Bunny

…dead bored of Enne, it might be wise to skip this post. I’m sorry about the flood, but she’s actually about the only thing I have to show off now, and hey, she’s got hair! Whee! She also had a pastel blue wig, I’ll probably get her white and pink hair as well.

My BJD stories are taking a hiatus probably until winter – both Kaamos and Meital need a facelift, and it takes a while because of the timetables of the customizers. Mirwaise’s new head is not even shipped yet…I also want Kaamos’ horns and other stuff ready, he’s getting Cuprit’s horns. And I want to start a bigger story arc which needs to be good, it needs pre-planning and writing and gah! Let’s say I’m gathering ideas, inspirations and props, and my stories will return with a blast later. Hopefully. Don’t worry, I absolutely love making stories :3

Behind the cut are some of the latest craftings!

Little dress II

There is no better way to cheer yourself up than looking at this little cupcake – she’s been sitting on my desk and I feel like smiling every time I look at her. She’s a real therapy doll, I have a feeling we’ll share a special bond. She arrived just the time big changes are happening in my life.

Okay, the point was to show some dresses I made for her, they’re from Puchicollective’s Lati Yellow pattern which worked like a charm. Another one after the cut!

Rose tunic

(I updated my shop, whee.)

Feh, I have a feeling my dolly hobby will take a slightly slower pace now. Uncle K is away for a new faceup, Meital needs one + some customization so she’s currently just hanging there. I also sold my Heliot head and bought him a new one ;3 It was an easy decision after all, I must admit that I just don’t like Soom’s faces and his huge elf ears were not good for his character. And I found a better head sculpt, the one that really said “oh boy, I’ll be a good Mirwaise. BUY ME.”

It also disturbed me a little bit that when people looked at my Heliot, they just saw OMG!HELIOT and not Mirwaise ^^; Okay, I just suck at explaining this, but I’ll try: there is such a huge hype around Soom monthlies that people just see the fancy sculpt and not the doll/character underneath. I didn’t sculpt Heliot but I made Mirwaise, and I’ll rather be complimented over creating a good character and styling him well instead over purchasing a wanted doll. Does this make any sense?

Anyhoo, we’ll see what comes of this “new” Mirwaise, I have high hopes for him.

And now when the “main” characters are on break, I’ve had the chance to bond with those of my dolls who do not get so much attention. I made a shirt for Huurre (my D.Lishe boy, do you even remember that I own him? :D ) and bought stuff for Halla, including a new wig. I think I need to play with my MSDs today.

Pink stars

Today’s sewing, perfecting a pattern. For me Meital will always be the most beautiful BJD girl in the whole world, always *3* She will be even more beautiful once dear jesmotin returns from Japan and will customize her a bit more <3 (And when the Dollmore GO gets here and she’ll get a new wig.)

Aka some of my recent knittings, all these are commissions from friends. Phew, it’s funny though, no matter how much I knit, I still have two big plastic bags of yarns. Why it never ends? And why do I keep buying more? *_*

Collars decorated with buttons and chains, easy and simple to do!

Blue bear

Okay, my petite-sized bear hat prototype didn’t turn out so well because the size was wrong, but luckily I found a suitable user for it – Deen’s Fancyboots Liechen *3* She has the perfect head for it, and beware, now I’m armed with actual measurements, so my next try will be better.

This little fella with a friend or two will go to sale later after I’ve checked the size with my friends’ dolls. It is supposed to be Unoa/Yo-SD/petite-sized *3*

I’ve also done a sewing commission, surely you want to see it, yes?

Emperor's new clothes

Ah, what is it that all my boys look so damn flaming these days? Okay, glittering pink scarf with golden sparkles, maybe. I just like nifty crazy patterns and bling also with my boys, who cares if they look gay - they’re just dandy. Dandy, I tell you! Besides in the past the guys were always the more fashionable ones. *nods*

Mmm yep, meant to say that I made some more clothes for Mirwaise from the scrap bag I bought from our fabric store. I love those scrap bags, they always give me ideas for new clothes.

Okay, I think I mentioned somewhere that there will be a new family member soon, and I had some yarn scraps…here’s hoping this will fit! It’s Lati Yellow-sized ;3

Supergem pants
Originally uploaded by thefairchildren

I made a quick pair of pants for Mirkku, no pockets, nothing fancy, just something to cover his nekkidness. I dislike making pants for some reason, but girl’s gotta do what girl’s gotta do. I consider this an achievement because Supergem boys have, uh, interesting private parts which make fitting the crotch area quite the challenge ;D

He’s getting light-blue 12mm glass eyes from Pupapa.com soon.

And almost exactly five months later, my Customhouse order is shipped \o/ Cebee is finally coming home, and I’m excited. I managed to get a faceup slot from Nolluska who is one of my favourite faceuppers here in Finland; Morri needs a strong faceup with thick black eyebrows and dark-red lips, I could never do that on my own. I can do light and natural somehow but nothing that involves black pastels.

Time to stalk our postal service’s tracking page like mad!

Edited to add: there has been a huge debate at our forum over stuffs and liquids that are safe to use on resin - so I was very amused as I read my Supergem owner manual from Soom and they suggested lacquer thinner or just acetone to remove staining ^^; Yeah, magic erasers are for wussies, hardcore users use thinner! Isn’t that the stuff that people even inhale to get high? (Finns, I think they mean “tinneri”)

I almost fell for Soom’s Hati but then did not, because my financial situation is not very good at the moment. I have decided though that I will own one of Soom’s fantasy BJDs in the future with some funny parts, because Kaamos needs a butler and something about turning something serious like Sard or Euclase into butler serving tea and brioche…I like that :D But it will a long while. Oh well, something to dream about!

To get some extra money, I’ve been taking lots of sewing/knitting commissions and here are some new ones:

Green shirt

Simple greenstriped MSD shirt.

Blue beret II

She looks awesome in blue and white, no? <3

Tax returns GET \o/ And it’s over 200 euros, even. Hmm, I do want Littlefee Ante but a new camera would be nice too. We’ll see which one I’ll choose when it’s December. It is probably the new camera as my trustworthy 350D is getting old…I’m afraid its shutter will soon say SNAP CRACKLE POP and then I’ll cry. Oh well, I’ve saved up for that.

Customhouse Cebee not get ;_; I’ve been waiting for 5 months soon…okay, I know they got a huge load of orders and whining about that won’t help anything. I just need my Morrigan home in order to start a new series of more serious photostories. Expect DRAMA. (Oh gods, I love nothing as much as good old emotional drama!)

Ah well, Heliot should start shipping soon too. My golden boy is coming home :3

It’s just a little page for now but I hope to be able to add more stuff there later. One of my dreams would be able to fund this hobby by selling my craftings <3

Still no sign of Morri…sniff.

Anyways, have a shirt commission I did for Nollu:
