I’ll concenrate on different kind of crafts from the 1st of December, but before, I finished all my sewing commissions! (Some knitting ones still remain.) I love creating with my hands, but it’s also been nice to get them done! My own dolls have nothing to wear or at least it feels like it, especially the big boys, especially Mirwaise. Luckily I have drafted some new patterns that I can use, making the pattern is the step that I dislike the most. When they are ready, everything feels quite easy…

The best fabric ever! + babble

The best fabric in the whole world

Spot all the things Ellu loves…yes, there are many. Chandeliers, cats, butterflys, castles, BAMBIS, fairytale stuff – I saw this fabric at Jonna and Tuuli’s place and knew I had to buy some for myself. Now just what to make of this loveliness? Meital gets this, of course ;3 I’m thinking of just simple loli shirt that shows the print with lace or ruffle on the hem, and then cutting off fabric badges from the extras and decorating stuff with them. Like my own bag. I admit, I’m a sucker for these Japanese prints ;_;

I also thought of things and the future of my dolls – since I don’t think I will buy many BJDS in the future anymore, I might start pampering my current ones, and I’m slowly dipping my toe in the thought of “buying hella expensive eyes” such as uretanes from Enchanted Doll. Okay, the thought of buying doll eyes which cost 50+ dollars a pair still makes me cringe, but damn, those milky EID eyes…they ARE worth of that *_* And you’re not paying because they are rare or wanted or popular, you’re paying because they really cost that much, it doesn’t feel so bad. Or does it? Anyway, my hubby said that “well, if they make you happy, 40 euros is not much of happiness” and he’s of course right <3

I started my journey in the land of urethanes by reserving a pair of glimmering black Aamu eyes for Morri, hopefully I'll get them! When I get enough money from my sewing commissions (I've decided that all the money I got from them will go back to this hobby), I'm getting Meital something like these :3

Okay, back to the sewing so I get that money :D

I wonder when was the last time I took a photoshoot…anyway, it was a beautiful day and I managed to drag J along as my assistant <3 So as we had four hands instead of two, I took Mirwaise with me and went to look at possible shooting locations near my new home. So many pretty places! *_* Espoo is really beautiful, plenty of nature and interesting architecture.

Golden boy, born to love

Look who is ready <3 Well, almost ready, he needs his eyes beveled and proper eyes, those 12mms I have are too small. I'm searching the internet for the good eyes, wish me luck. I like him much more now than when he was Heliot, this head feels much more like my doll. Heliot is ethereal and would make an excellent high elf, Kasis is more earthly (or maybe heavenly in Mirwaise's case ;D) and just has more character even in bare sculpt. I'm glad that I switched, I've had bonding problems with Mirwaise and even thought of selling him, but now when things clicked...well, it's a good feeling.

I just need to make him more clothes, all clothes I have for him feel somehow lame >_>

"OwO"

Enne’s personality and character is developing slowly. She’s been a mere cute little bugger for now, but as storymaking is a big passion of mine, I couldn’t just leave her be.

Blabbering under the cut!

Recently I got a huge pile of commissions, they kept adding up because I had a little pause with my sewing machine – but now my loyal PFAFF is all set up and I’ve managed to do things out of the way. This is really something I enjoy, being able to make stuff with my hands, and I have this distant dream of being able to be able to support myself with doll crafts, even part-time. It might be impossible, but hey, BJD fandom is growing all the time and being able to go international…it might work out. And what is life without having silly dreams? I remember the time when I dreamt of nothing, and it was nothing that I enjoyed.

Okay, let’s stop the babble and show pictures. I hope you’re not bored of my crafts, because here we go again :3

Let's go alpaca

This one is a favourite, because it’s for a friend who really likes alpacas so I made an alpaca hat! I saw real alpacas at the fair on Sunday and looked through many alpaca yarns. They were just on the expensive side, I know a place where you can get them cheaper ;3 This hat is of course made of alpaca yarn, it’s my favourite kind of yarns. Smooth, somehow slick, thin and it makes excellent doll knittings!

Two little melonheads

(Photo taken by Jesmo)

We had our Halloween meetup yesterday; I didn’t bring a camera along this time but luckily jesmo allowed me to show this one. It’s her Nene with the bear hat I made and Enne comforting her cottonheaded twin sister.

“Derp, were you scared? It was just me! No worries OwO”

Actually I wanted just to show that I did make my dolls Halloween costumes ;D Enne was a little ghost, looking quite much like Oogie Boogie from Nightmare before Christmas, and Uncle K…well, he had the same costume as he did in the previous Halloween party, I just pimped it up a little bit >_>; At least they got costumes! It was a fun party, thank you for the company even though I wasn’t extremely social, so tired from the move and all the stress :/

Today we visited Helsinki Craft Fair and no, I didn’t survive without buying stuff. I got me some ribbons and pompom trim, mohair yarn, black beads for my animal hats and licorice :P There were so much to look at, I definitely have to visit the next year as well!

Oh, and Mirkku got a new spiffy faceup, trust my little Jonna for making my characters looking like themselves <3 We RPG together a lot so she knows my characters inside and outside and I can just toss a head in her direction and tell her to "hey, make this Mirkku!" - and she does. I'll go and pick Mirkku the next week, so I think there might be at least pictures coming >:3

Blue bunneh

I visited Taikatuuli’s place today and took some selling photos for her and while I was at it…well, I had to photograph mr. blue bunny as well. He’s from Coco Tribe and quite the best thing, no? <3

Uncle K

Why hello there! I’m still here – the reason why it’s been quiet is that I moved to a new city and got encaged with my sweety. We’re now having a nice flat in Southern Finland, and I’m trying to arrange my life to something nice. But look, aren’t Uncle K’s new horns nice? I traded them with Kihis for Cuprit horns and I must say I like these better on mr. K, they suit his introverted personality much better. I’m thinking of painting them with grey pastels and paints, let’s see what I come up with.

I have about gazillion things to finish, so off I go now o/

Enne (and her hand magnets) are so much better than a pin cushion. Don’t worry, I won’t let her poke anyone with that! When I sew, I always manage to lose the important items such as scissors, needles or measuring tape, so luckily I have a little cute helper :3

Phew, all my dolls except Enne are packed away for two weeks, and I miss them already! I’m eager to be able to put Mirwaise together (his SG body lounges currently in J’s bookshelf) and see if it works out at all :/ I’m bit nervous because Kasis seems so small, but then again Heliot head is also quite small. Long, but small, so we’ll see. If it doesn’t work out, I’ll put that body for sale and I’m not scalping, I promise, I’ll just count how much I paid for it in our Heliot split + custom fees :)

Since Enne is the only one not-in-a-box, have some pictures. I got a commission for Pukifee/Lati clothes so here are the results:

Little Enne

A dress, buyer chose the fabric and the design. Really simple to sew :D

Yesyes, although real life has been kicking my butt lately :|

"Derp?"

I finished this some time ago, a dress for Enne. Screwed up the front panel and tried to cover it with lace bow, haha, that’s what I always try >_>; Oh well, as long as it looks okay…

“Daddy?”

"Daddy?"

For some unknown reason Enne believes that Uncle K is her daddy – even though she is usually very afraid of all things demonic, she doesn’t fear Kaamos at all! I should do her arrival story, but it will have to wait until November, because it involves a friend’s character.

I haven’t had much time or energy to devote to my dolls lately, sadly :( Oh well, the next month should be easier!

A cupful of Enne

Eep, sorry I’ve been quiet and not commenting much, been busy with real life. But aren’t her eyes adorable? That’s also my favourite mug with my favourite Moomin characters, I don’t know their English names but they’re Tiuhti and Viuhti in Finnish and Tofslan or Vifslan in Swedish originally. They’re little and cute, just like Enne.

Uncle reads

Niko: “And then the lions ate the sinner. He he. Amen. The end.”
Enne: “O_O eeep!”
Meital: “Niko, what on earth are you reading?”

My domain is back :3 Thanks to my man for working his magical nerdyness, I was afraid all would be lost but we got everything back! <3 yay yay!

You can also see yesterday’s sewings somewhat in the pic, Meital’s skirt and Enne’s dress are new.

Our server's hard drive said POKS and so Fairchildren.com and all the subsites are out of order for a while. We'll try to restore what we can, it seems though that my blog might be gone because I'm lazy to take copies :B *smacks herself so hard*

Oh well, life goes on! I'll let you guys know when things are working again ^_^

Horned

Cuprit’s horns! I might trade these for Leeke’s goral horns though – these are fantastic, but maybe they don’t suit the image I have of Kaamos. I probably will take at least one photoshoot of him wearing these. So massive, and their magnets could probably kill someone. They almost killed my fingers x_x

New eyes

And the third package of the day was my order from Captured in Glass, here’s Enne wearing her proper eyes. She looks fantastic now, I’ll probably order more from them when the funds permit <3 Not bad for eyes which cost 10 dollars, right? :3

Kasis!

Mirwaise’s new face aka K-Doll’s Kasis, no customs, whee! I quite like the head. It needs some eye bevelling though, and I’m not sure how it will fit my SG body. The head seems quite small and so does the neckhole…his body is currently in Espoo so I’m unable to check it now, but we’ll see!

What’s cuter than pukifee Ante? Well, two of them, of course! Enne got reunited with her sister Nene (she belongs to Jesmo) and I took pictures ^3^

Double the cute

Aren’t they adorable?
